Plasma coagulase test reagent
The coagulase test
Description:
The coagulase test is used to detect free coagulase or bound coagulase (clumping factor) and differentiate coagulase-producing Staphylococcus from other Staphylococcus spp. Dehydrated rabbit plasma reagent with EDTA is commercially available .Rehydrate and perform the test according to the manufacturer’s directions. While human plasma is preferred for detection of clumping factor with Staphylococcus schleiferi, it is not recommended for routine testing because it may contain antibodies against staphylococci. It can be used together with other test products flexibly.
Directions:
Step1 Dissolve dry rabbit plasma with 0.5ml normal saline.
Step2 Emulsify suspicious bacterial to become bacterial suspension.
Step3 Incubate at 35℃ for 3h-4h(Do not shake or agitate the tube while checking clotting). The positive is clotting.
