Porphyrin test

Description:

The porphyrin test is based on the observation that hemin-independent Haemophilus strains excrete porphlbilinogen and porphyrins, both of which are intermediates in the heminbiosynthetic pathway, when supplied with –aminolevulinic acid.X-factor-requiring strains do not excrete these compounds because of a lack of enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of heme. It can be used together with other test products flexibly.

Directions:

Step1 Wet the test area with the Buffer Solution.

Step2 Pick up colony under test from theChocolate Agar with a loop and smear on the test area

Step3

After incubate at 35℃ for 1h-2h, the mixture is exposed to UV light (wavelength, approximately 360nm), preferably in a dark room. Observe if it becomes orange-red

every 30min.

Notice:

1.Check the product appearance before use, or else do quality control and discard

2.Only be used once

3．Store at 2-8℃，away from light

4.  Use safely.

5.  Get and store immediately.

6.  Put unspent products back to the packaging bag on request.

7.  After use, products should be discarded.
